Our History
The George Washington University has been a leader in science and innovation for over 200 years. In the face of today’s challenges with a vision for new possibilities, the GW Alliance for a Sustainable Future was launched in 2023 to elevate and coordinate sustainability efforts across GW. Building on GW’s long-standing commitment to environmental and social responsibility, the GW Alliance for a Sustainable Future was created to unify academic programs, research, and community engagement under a shared vision for impact. With insight from across disciplines and support from university leadership, the GW Alliance for a Sustainable Future serves as a central hub for collaboration, innovation, and action in the face of global sustainability challenges.
